Here at Cornerstone, we recognize that in order to grow and make an impact in the lives of people, it takes the combined effort of many volunteers. God has called us to "give beyond ourselves" and use our gifts to minister to others.
Whether for Sunday services or during the week, there are plenty of opportunities to get plugged in and serve!
Our ministry is designed to facilitate children engaging, learning, and interacting with the truth of God's word each week. We partner with families to help their children pursue a growing relationship with God. It is our desire to utilize every minute we have with these children on Sunday morning in order to consistently introduce them to the love of Jesus Christ.
If you would like to serve, please fill our application by clicking here and fill out the Volunteer Interest Form above.
Community Group Leaders:
Community groups provide people with the opportunity to connect with others and experience community, all while growing in their relationship with Christ. Our community group leaders seek to provide environments where people can experience authentic community and spiritual growth. This ministry plays a vital role in fulfilling Cornerstone's vision of helping people pursue a growing relationship with Jesus.
The purpose of this team is to help take ownership in setting up and tearing down inviting relevant environments where children and adults encounter Jesus and grow in their relationship with Him.
The Host Team at Cornerstone exists to create a welcoming experience for people who attend our church. We want to help others grow in their relationship with Christ through our hospitality, prayer, and acts of love.
UVA Shuttle Drivers:
The UVA shuttle provides a way for local college students to get to church. This area of ministry allows us to reach those on UVA grounds who otherwise would not be able to get to church due to lack of transportation. This ministry allows our church to fulfill its vision statement by reaching people of all ages and helping them form relationships and grow deeper in their relationship with Jesus.
The parking team has been established to provide a "front-line" service to those attending Cornerstone. Team members assist in the smooth flow of traffic, both vehicular and pedestrian, providing a sense of order and security. Greeting everyone with a smile and a "Good Morning", they help instill a warm welcome to our regular attendees and guests alike with the hope of setting the mood for a great time of worship and fellowship.
The purpose of the Care Team is to help build a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. A Care Team member will be passionate about prayer, seeking wisdom, discernment, and gratitude in both the church life and in their own personal life. As a Care Team member, you will: pursue your relationship with Christ through prayer and Bible reading, have the privilege of praying with first-time believers, or those facing life challenges, disciple believers, whether new or old and encourage participation in a community group, and pray for specific needs of the church that will lead to spiritual depth and growth.
Culture is a place where teens can grow, both spiritually and relationally. Our ministry focuses on the challenges teens face and equips them with biblical truths to overcome their struggles and have a personal encounter with God. Our goal is to develop teens who love God and seek God's presence, and show them how to live a life that pours out Jesus' compassion to our community.
Music Team (Band, Vocal Team)
To be a team whose purpose and desire is to lead people towards God in worship selflessly, inconspicuously, and with skill. It is to be modern day Levites, set apart for the purpose of leading God's people in worship.
Please check out the Worship Arts Application page for more information.
Media Team (Light Operator, Computer Operator, Audio Tech, Video Tech)
If you are attentive, have an eye for detail, and are passionate about doing things with excellence, perhaps the Media Team is the place for you! We work behind the scenes to ensure that the lighting and everything on the video screen are run in such a way as to facilitate a clean and comfortable environment on Sunday mornings. Our goal is to minimize distractions so that worshipers can be free to focus less on their surroundings and more on intimately connecting with God.
